High Tide Boating Instagram Competition

  1. The promoter is: High Tide Boating whose registered office is at Level 2, 28 Cumberland St, Docklands 3004.
  2. The competition is open to anyone who 
    1. Owns a boat or 
    2. Knows someone who owns a boat
    3. Needs training with Docking, or knows someone who would benefit from Docking instruction
    4. Lives in or have their boat in Melbourne
    5. 18 years or over except employees of High Tide Boating and their close relatives and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation.
  3. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
  4. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  5. Route to entry for the competition are via
  6. Multiple entries from the same person is allowed.
  7. The person who wins this prize must consent to the training session being filmed.
  8. Closing date for entry will be on November 30, 2020. After this date no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
  9. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
  10. The winner will be announced live on our Instagram account on December 4 at 1 PM AEDT.
  11. The rules of the competition and how to enter are as follows:
    1. The entrant must be following @NedTalksShip on Instagram in order to enter.
    2. The entrant must post a photo or video of him/her on a boating adventure they have had. The photo or video must include the boat or part thereof.
    3. The entrant must tag us @NedTalksShip and use the hashtags #MyBoatingMoment and #NedTalksShip 
    4. The entrant must have his/her profile set to public at least until we have chosen the winner.
  12. The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
  13. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
  14. The prize is as follows: Advanced boat handling Course – focused on Docking valued at $450. This is a 3 hour intensive program that focuses on Docking. However, during this training we will also cover any aspects of boating that the winner feels their knowledge is lacking. This includes – vessel familiarisation, basic safety and correct start up and shut down procedures. The boat must be registered, insured and fit for sea going service
  15. The prize cannot be delivered if the winner doesn’t have a boat. The promoter cannot supply a training vessel.
  16. The prize if transferable from the winner to a friend or family member, as long as the transferee meets the criteria given in (2) above
  17. The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
  18. The winner will be chosen at random by software, from all entries received and verified by Promoter and or its agents.
  19. The winner will be notified by DM on Instagram within 28 days of the closing date. If the winner does not respond within 7 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
  20. The promoter will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected/ delivered.
  21. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  22. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  23. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by Australian law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
  24. The winner agrees to have the training filmed while taking the course, and use his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current Australia data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
  25.  Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  26. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter or any other Social Network. You are providing your information to High Tide Boating and not to any other party. The information provided will be used in conjunction with the following Privacy Policy found at
  27.  High Tide Boating‘s decision as to those able to take part and selection of winners is final. No correspondence relating to the competition will be entered into.
  28. High Tide Boating shall have the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these terms and conditions, such change shall be effective immediately upon posting to this webpage.
  29. High Tide Boating also reserves the right to cancel the competition if circumstances arise outside of its control.
